**Notice on Course Registration Winter Semester 2025/26**

All course places for the winter semester 2025/26 are already fully booked.

Therefore, we are currently unable to accept any further registrations or payments.

We appreciate your interest and will update this page as soon as places become available again.

First Semester Registration

A. Students who only have German as a subject requirement

If you are interested in a course place, you may upload your documents (university admission letter, passport or official photo ID) on this website onwards.

You will receive further information by e-mail (processing time approx. 3 working days). Please also check your spam folder.

Registration and payment on site is only possible if you have received a confirmation email from us with a registration date.

First Registration: Step by Step

1 Mandatory Online Pre-registration::

Fill in all relevant fields of the online pre-registration form.
The following documents must be uploaded:
- Admission notice from your university
- Passport or official photo ID
Read and accept the Terms and Conditions
After successful pre-registration, you will receive a confirmation by email (please check spam folder). This usually takes max. 2 working days

2 Course Registration and Placement:

Once you have received a positive confirmation of your pre-registration by email, proceed with personal registration. You do not need an appointment for this. We are available for registration at the following times:

Registration times: August 25, 2025 to September 4, 2025, Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM.

Location: Handelskai 388 (entrance Wehlistraße 299), 1020 Vienna. Registration on staircase 4, 5th floor. Arrival: U2 Donaumarina (5 min. walk) or bus 72A/77A/92A, station Praterbrücke

For personal registration you need: Admission notice, passport/photo ID, course fee (EUR 1,840.- incl. VAT). We accept cash (no 500-euro bills!) or card payment (please note your daily card limit and change it with your bank beforehand if necessary).

Upon successful registration and payment, you will immediately receive your appointment for the placement test. The appointment is on the day of registration (afternoon) or the day after your registration. Test duration: approx. 1.5 to 2 hours.

Once you have paid for the course in full, you will receive an email the next working day with login credentials for our learning platform vwu.dieberater.com (Moodle).
There you can download your registration confirmation and the confirmation for ÖGK health insurance.

3 Completion of Admission Process:

Complete your admission process at the university. Admission to study takes place online or in person at your university. For information and deadlines, please contact your university:

Vienna University of Technology
All other universities: Contact your university’s student affairs department to complete your admission.

4 – Payment of ÖH Fee

Important: Pay your ÖH fee (Austrian Students’ Union) before the course starts! Without payment, you will NOT be enrolled at your university for the next semester and will not receive a student transcript or documents for your insurance or other authorities.

With this, you have successfully completed your registration. One week before the course starts, you will receive your course information (course time, classroom, course books) by email. The course books are available in bookstores or online. Your course in winter semester 2025/26 begins on September 24, 2025.

B Students who, in addition to German, have further subjects and who received their letter of admission before 22 August 2025

If the following applies to you:

You have further subjects in addition to German AND
You received your letter of admission before 22 August 2025 AND
You have neither preregistered at the VWU nor have you already been placed at the VWU with onSET

Please use the form on this website to register and upload the required documents.

C. First-semester students who have already done their placement test at VWU (Sechshauserstraße) with onSet for winter semester 2025/26

If you have multiple subject requirements and have registered at VWU Sechshauserstraße as a first-semester student for winter semester 2025/26, you have already done your placement test at VWU. If you received an email from VWU on or after 22 August 2025 stating that you must register with one of the VWU cooperation partners, please use the payment link included in the VWU email. You do not need to upload your documents or send them to us by email. After payment of the course fee, you will receive confirmation and further information by email. Do not share the payment link from the email.

Registration for Continuing Students

Registration for Continuing Students (2nd or more semester)

Continuing students are those who have already attended a German course at VWU or a cooperation partner. The registration will take place until September 4, 2025.

Continuing students who attended a VWU German course in summer semester 2025: Register via Moodle (vwu.dieberater.com). A detailed guide can be found in your Moodle course “Welcome to the summer semester 2025”, “Registration for winter semester 2025/26.”

Continuing students who did NOT attend a VWU German course in summer semester 2025: Register by submitting your most recent university record of studies (Studienblatt) to vwu@dieberater.com.

Students who wish to change to die Berater

If you are currently attending a VWU German course at another institution and would like to take your VWU German course with die Berater starting in the upcoming winter semester, please send us your current confirmation of enrolment (Studienblatt), admission letter (Zulassungsbescheid), and a copy of your passport to
vwu@dieberater.com, subject: Transfer student.

You can register until the same periods as continuing students:
September 4, 2025.

Course Fees

The course fee for winter semester 2025/26 is €1,840 incl. VAT

(€1,800 (incl. VAT) for course tuition and €40 (incl. VAT) for course materials)
