With our German courses for the pre-study course of the Viennese universities, we prepare you efficiently with highly qualified trainers for the supplementary German exam that you have to take before starting your studies. Our course rooms are spacious and equipped with modern equipment and are easily accessible by public transportation.
VWU German courses are not based on the CEFR (Common European Framework of
Framework of Reference for Languages). For this reason
the VWU placement test is used to determine which course level
level you will attend in your first semester.
There are five VWU course levels:
AN – beginners with no previous knowledge
AV – beginners with previous knowledge
EV – Students with advanced knowledge
FG – Advanced knowledge
WF – advanced knowledge
The course system is permeable. This means that the levels do not
levels do not build on each other, but rather include repetitions and overlaps
in each previous and subsequent course level.
If you perform well, you do not have to complete every single level,
but can skip a course level. You have four semesters
time to complete the VWU German courses (and other subject courses).
Most students need three semesters to pass the EPD.
three semesters. At the end, you must pass the EPD
(registration at the VWU, Sechshauser Straße) in order to be able to switch to the regular study program.
to be able to change to the regular study program.
The lessons are taught by qualified teachers.
In addition to the course books, the courses are taught using authentic material
and exercises on Moodle.
As a student, you must purchase the course books in bookstores
or online. They are not included in the course and material fee
included.
At the latest one week before the course starts, you will receive an e-mail with
information about your course (course level and course book).
Your active participation in class is important for your learning success.
Only with active participation and commitment in the homework
can you achieve the course objective. It is therefore also important that you
attend lessons regularly. These factors are also
decisive for the course confirmation (MA 35, residence, visa),
which you will receive at the end of the semester.
If you arrive late, do not observe the break times or leave class early
or leave class early, the respective lesson will be counted as an absence.
Participants in the VWU German courses at die Berater
accept the course rules and house rules.
You will take three intermediate tests during the course. If you do not complete the tests
you will have to repeat the course level.
If you fail an intermediate test, this test will be graded 5
(unsatisfactory). There are no alternative dates and also
no retakes of the examinations.
The promotion result (course level for the next semester) is based on your
from your semester performance. The information about which VWU course level you
can attend in the following semester will be sent to you via Moodle shortly after the end of the course.
If your performance in the semester is not sufficient or if you have less than 70%
attendance, you will have to take an oral
oral advancement test at the end of the semester. Students from the levels
AN, AV and EV must then take an advancement test,
in order to be graded for the following semester.
For students from the advanced levels FG and WF, this exam is not required
This examination is not required for students from the advanced levels FG and WF, as promotion to a higher level is not possible. All important dates
will be communicated to you via the Moodle platform.

for your German course. So that you meet deadlines and have the right documents
